Описание: Orbital Mechanics for Engineering Students, Fourth Edition, is a key text for students of aerospace engineering. While this latest edition has been updated with new content and included sample problems, it also retains its teach-by-example approach that emphasizes analytical procedures, computer-implemented algorithms, and the most comprehensive support package available, including fully worked solutions, PPT lecture slides, and animations of selected topics. Highly illustrated and fully supported with downloadable MATLAB algorithms for project and practical work, this book provides all the tools needed to fully understand the subject.
Описание: Counter-Space Defence Satellite Fighter - ASAT (Anti-Satellite) complexThe Soviet Counter-Space Defence Satellite Fighter complex was the only dedicated anti-satellite system to be operationally deployed during the Cold War. This system, which was allocated to alert duties in 1972 and attained full operational capability in 1978, served beyond the break-up of the Soviet Union in December 1991, being decommissioned by the Russian Federation in 1993.This volume sets out to detail, from the historical and technological perspectives, the Counter-Space Defence Satellite Fighter complex. The road, factual and propaganda, that led to the development of the ASAT complex is detailed, as well as the Counter-Space Defence Satellite Fighter complex itself, along with the flight test and development program leading to actual deployment of the system. At varying times throughout the text the various weapon systems discussed will be referred to under their Soviet service and or manufacturer names and designations as well as, at appropriate times, under their NATO shadow designations, the latter of course being accepted by the Soviet Union for use in arms limitations and other treaties. All technical data concerning the respective weapon systems and their components have been provided by the respective design bureau/offices, as has much of the imagery and graphics with additional impute from United States intelligence agencies and defense department, the space agencies of the Ukraine and the Russian Federation, United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Описание: This is a guide for the growing number of researchers in organic chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology who would like to augment their experiments with theoretical calculations. The book teaches the use of quantum chemical computer programs while side-stepping the complex mathematics.

Описание: The aim of these notes is to provtde a summary and concise introduction to elementary molecular orbital theory, with an emphasis on semiempirical methods. The aim of semiempirical methods mainly lies in a semiquantitative classification of electronic pro- perties and in the search for regularities within given classes of larger molecules.

Описание: Criteria of orbital symmetry conservation had a profound influence on mechanistic thinking in organic chemistry and are still commonly applied today. The author presents a coherent set of operational rules for the analysis of scope and reliability. It is written from the viewpoint of Orbital Correspondence Analysis in Maximum Symmetry (OCAMS). Its advantage lies in its provision of a coherent overview of the relation between symmetry and mechanism. For reasons of consistency, the book remains within the framework of molecular orbital theory.
Описание: The fragment molecular orbital (FMO) method is a fast linear-scaling quantum-mechanical method employed by chemists and physicists all over the world. It provides a wealth of properties of fragments from quantum-chemical calculations, a bottomless treasure pit for data mining and machine learning. However, there is no user-friendly description of its usage in the widely employed quantum-chemical open-source software GAMESS, nor is there any book covering the usage of GAMESS in general. This leaves very many interested users to their own devices to get through a variety of problems with very cryptic descriptions of keywords in the program manual and no guide whatsoever as to what options should be set for particular scientific tasks. This book is the panacea to many frustrations. The main focus of the book is to build a solid bridge connecting FMO users to GAMESS, by giving a helpful introduction of various FMO methods as needed for particular problems found in computational chemistry, and describing in detail how to do these simulations and understand the results from the output of the program. The book also covers parallelization strategies for attaining high parallel efficiency in massively parallel computations, and provides means to analyze performance and design a solution for overcoming performance bottlenecks. A special section is devoted to dealing with problems in executing GAMESS, arising from computational environment and user errors. Finally, 14 carefully selected types of applications are discussed in detail, describing the input keywords and explaining where to find the main results in the text-based output.
