Environmental effects, spillage and dust- emission are few of those processes which can corrode concrete. Protection of concrete surface of constructed elements from corrosive attack "arising through very harsh corrosive conditions" from all those (and many more) sources of corrosion becomes a moral duty of a Civil Engineer.
